Introduction
Leave the hustle and bustle behind you and savour the beautiful views of the Towy Valley as you drive up the leafy country road to Alltyfyrddin.

Enjoy the Croeso and hospitality on our 220 acre Welsh family run and worked dairy and sheep farm just 2 miles from Carmarthen, the oldest town in Wales. The farmhouse at Alltyfyrddin dates back to the 1700’s, (probably earlier) and some of its original features have survived the passage of time and have been lovingly restored, including the beamed ceiling and wonderful inglenook fireplace in the guests’ lounge.

The bedrooms are charmingly furnished and decorated with our guests every comfort in mind.
The family room has a double and single bed and an en-suite bathroom. There is a TV/Video in the room and there is a selection of videos available for guests to view.
The single/twin room has an en-suite shower, and a TV/DVD to help guests relax. Another twin room has its own private bathroom. All rooms have a refreshments tray, clock-radio, hairdryer, and colour televisions. A cot and high-chair are available for the comfort of our younger guests.
Guests are offered a selection of delicious breakfasts to set them up for the day, whether you will be exploring the wonderful countryside or working in the area. We can also cater for special diet requirements by prior arrangement.

Relax and unwind in the garden. Watch wild rabbits play on the hillside. The majestic red kite sometimes visits. Listen to the sounds of the countryside - the birds singing and the distant humming of a harvester. Or take a walk down to the village and enjoy an evening meal at the pub. On cooler evenings you may wish to play the games or read from the selection of interesting books available in the lounge.
Alltyfyrddin is a farm steeped in history, shrouded in mystery, and rich in wildlife.

There with delightful pleasure view
Carmarthen town, both old and new
The place where Merlin claim’d his birth,
That mighty prophet when on earth,
Who in Allt’Fyrddin form’d a cave,
Which serv’d him for his house and grave.....
Anon. 1794

Part of the farm is known as Merlin’s Hill where, according the legend, Merlin the wizard is kept in bonds of enchantment. Walk the nature trails from the farmyard to the site of our Iron Age Hill-fort site and admire the breathtaking views enjoyed by Merlin. During your stay at Alltyfyrddin we hope you will discover some of the secrets of Carmarthenshire at the farm itself. Alltyfyrddin is home to the Merlin’s Hill Centre where you can not only walk the nature trails to the hilltop, but also wander around the farmyard heritage centre and meet the friendly farm animals.

During the Spring our prize winning Jacob sheep are busy lambing. In the early summer the sheep are shorn and their wool is spun and woven into the exclusive Merlin’s Hill Wool Collection of throws, blankets and rugs - beautiful gifts to for you treasure. Our guests are welcome to view our herd of Holstein cows being milked or watch the calves being born in the Autumn .
