Introduction
Welcome, “Croeso” to Capel Dewi Uchaf Country House

Imagine a place to relax in comfort, taking time for one another, reading books in front of a lovely fire, maybe catch a salmon or sewin (sea trout) from the River Towy and enjoy it served for dinner. Even bring your horse! Capel Dewi Uchaf is enchanting in every way, guests come from around the world to savour the delights of this five hundred year old Grade II listed farmhouse full of olde world charm, hand in hand with creature comforts.

Each room is unique in period décor with tea tray, hair dryer and colour television. In the guests lounge there is a piano, guitar, antique wind-up gramophone with a collection of old records for evenings by the fire, play games and of course, a television for lazy days. The Breakfast Terrace overlooks the garden which is a delight to walk around. Our guests often stay longer than they intended!

For very special occasions our guests can enjoy being spoilt in the farmhouse dining room, which is licensed. Enjoy being served “Dinner Party” style in our Baronial Dining Room. After dinner coffee, chocolates and liqueurs, at your leisure in the lounge to round off the perfect evening before retiring to bed and dreaming of another day to explore this beautiful county. When possible, the seasonal produce is from our organic garden which includes vegetables, soft fruits and apple trees.

Enjoy our garden, full of birdsong and then visit the two local Garden projects nearby. The National Botanical Garden for Wales is just 5 minutes away and the Aberglasney Garden is
some 15 minutes away. This beautiful Towy Valley is the Garden of Wales.

We specialise in looking after Business Women who travel alone.

Please note we are an entirely non-smoking establishment. We are very sorry but we are currently unable to accommodate pets.

Eating ‘In’ at Capel Dewi Uchaf

As winners of the AA Best Breakfast in Wales you can experience a real British Breakfast cooked in our farmhouse kitchen using local fresh produce. Our aim is to delight the eye as well as the tummies of our guests. The day ahead could be long, finding your way around the sights and scenes of our wonderful county.

Breakfast is served in our breakfast room and on fine days on the terrace in the morning sunshine, over looking the garden. If you are early enough perhaps you could pick the strawberries and raspberries for
breakfast. Many birds can be seen around the garden, one breakfasting bird fancier saw 19 species in the
time it took him to eat his breakfast, including a Red Kite! Delight in meeting new ‘friends’ over breakfast
and finding out all sorts of things, about all sorts of fascinating people.

Enjoy a six course Dinner Party Style experience in our Baronial Dining Room. Everything is home cooked just for you. We serve our guests at 8 p.m. Pre booking is required a day in advance.

We have some wonderful restaurants near by, we will be pleased to book a restaurant for you should you require a booking. Y Polyn Restaurant which is in the village, comes highly recommended.

Take the M4 to junction 49, follow A48 to next roundabout signed to Carmarthen.
Proceed along the dual carriageway until LEFT turn, signed THE NATIONAL BOTANIC GARDEN FOR WALES
Take the B4310 signed Nantgaredig, passing Y POLYN RESTAURANT, until the junction with the B4300, then turn LEFT.
Travel along the B4300 for ¾ of a mile, you will see the sign on your RIGHT for, CAPEL DEWI UCHAF COUNTRY HOUSE

Private Fishing
Private fishing on the River Towy at £25 a day per person/per rod
50% reduction for our guests staying seven days or more. A license is required for Salmon and Sewin (Sea Trout)
