Introduction
Dan y Parc is a 17th century farmhouse, which is beautifully situated
with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Set in 14 acres of
farm and woodlands, each bedroom has en-suite or private bathroom facilities,
tea/coffee making facilities and a television. The residential lounge
with beamed ceiling and log fire leads to our dining area where we serve
a good hearty cooked or continental breakfast. Homemade evening meals
are available, cooked using a variety of fresh local produce.
Vegetarians and people with special dietary needs are catered for and
are most welcome. Children of all ages are welcome. Pets are also catered
for with plenty of space to exercise them on the farm.
We provide a small woodland walk which is a site of historical significance
and importance for nature conservation. It contains some of the oldest
oak trees in Wales, some of which are 600 years old as well as a gorge
with a waterfall cascading down the middle, which is a haven for many
species of birds.
Bring your horse on holiday. Four large stables are available,
bedding provided. Just get up, pack up, and go. We will do all the work
so you can relax in the wonderful surroundings. Maps are provided for
riding along forestry tracks, hill paths and mountains, with over 30 miles
of routes you are assured you won't be bored.
Dan y Parc is ideally situated for touring South, West and Mid Wales,
surrounded as it is by castles and places of historical interest. In the
vicinity are The National Botanic Garden of Wales and Aberglasney 'the
garden lost in time'. Not too far away is the un-spoilt West Wales coastline.
Located on the border of the Brecon Beacons National Park there are many
footpaths with breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. You
can often see the Red Kite species circling overhead. Nearby is the R.S.P.B.
Dinas Reserve which is an attraction for many bird watchers.
